Whats up with the stick figure logo?

Creating a memorable logo with the ability to stand out while communicating these attributes: creative, experienced, passionate, process oriented, driven with a good deal of attitude.

The history of the logo goes back to 1997 where I first invented and used it in the form of short funny animations. Colleagues and clients alike responded strongly to the figure and asked to have it as their screensaver. The attitude and poise of the stick figure quickly became synonymous with me.

The Gjetting name signals that this is an individual not an agency. The handwritten typeface resembles a signature, which shows individuality and professional pride.

The symbolism is in the simplicity of the figure, where very simple means combined , just right, carries a strong message commu-nicating a sense of playfulness, personality and attitude. The slightly crooked head challenges and indicates curiosity, while the sensuality of organic materials allows you to imagine how the figure would feel if you could reach out and touch it.

Poetry

Recently I began to experiment with writing poetry in order to become a more well rounded creative and to stop the deterio-ratiation of my language. My poems and ramblings are written purely to learn and for my own entertainment. If it jars in your ears like a deaf man playing the violin, that is fine. If it amuses or enlightens that is fine too, but it is an unintended coincidence. Feel free to give me feedback; I will appreciate comments to sharpen my pen on.

Rock climbing and whimpering

A barefooted boy scrambles up a tree for no other motivation than doing it. Excitement, danger and joy leads to a wall of rock. Now he needs equipment and the game becomes demanding, yet the reasons are still the same. The rocks captivate imagination and challenge the character as hard walls sharply stands out of the surrounding landscape reaching for the sky.

In short intense time spans, I am exper-iencing the extremes of the human condition. Facing up to fear, while exposed to risk and pure unadulterated joy. Feeling alive; physically, intellectually and spiritually. Climbing for the thrills and the opportunity to gain insight into oneself. Ascending the wall of rock becomes a mean of intensifying and enhancing the experience of life.

Under physical and emotional pressure, the social masks drop and logical arguments fail. I am are forced to climb and to exist for a short while without ego and self illusions. The physical strain and the mental challenge help me test and develop character, courage, grace under pressure and patience and all the other requirements needed to stay reasonably sane in today's world.

I fail, retry and redouble my efforts,
and accomplish a climb at what seems the peak of my capabilities only to go back and attempt to go one step further until failure halts progress once again. I am not yet that good a climber and consider myself lucky to still have many barriers to pass.
